Overview

The 8-day Nyingchi Lhasa Nature Exploration tour covers many beautiful scenic spots in Nyingchi and Lhasa. First, you will drive to Nyingchi, known as Little Switzerland, to explore its excellent scenery. You will hike to the Spruce Forest of Gang Country, one of the most beautiful virgin forests in China. Drive along the Parlung Zangbo River to discover the most beautiful glacier - Midui Glacier, and the magnificent Laigu Glacier. Enjoy the deep blue Ranwu Lake, the largest lake in eastern Tibet. Next, you will embark on a pastoral journey to Bomi Peach Blossom Valley, to witness the perfect integration of glacier, peach forest, and pastoral scenery. Finally, you will go to Lhasa and appreciate its prominent historical architecture of Potala Palace, the greatest Buddhist university of Drepung Monastery, the mystical Jokhang Temple and the typical Tibetan-style royal garden Norbulingka. In addition, you can gain an in-depth understanding of the culture of Tibet, experience the life of the local Tibetan people, and wander leisurely in the old quarter of Lhasa City.

Day 1 Nyingchi Arrival

When you arrive in Nyingchi, our staff will pick you up at Mainling Airport and transfer you to the hotel. From the airport, it takes about 50 minutes. Afterward, it's better to relax and take it easy on the first day to get acclimatized to high altitude and alleviate the jet lag. You might wander around the city on your own but try not to overtax yourself.

Day 2 Tashigang to Bomi, 160km, Approx. 3hrs

In the morning, the Lulang Mountain is as misty as a fairyland. Then you will set off and arrive in Bomi at noon. Bomi is known as the "Snowy Jiangnan", with green grassy meadows, lush forests, floating white clouds, and blue mountains and lakes.

Have a short rest after lunch, you will hike into the Spruce Forest. The tall and dense spruce forests will satisfy your imagination of the magical forest. Walk through the comfortable natural forest oxygen bar, you will enjoy a plateau lake among snow-capped mountains and meadows.

Day 3 Bomi - Laigu Glacie - Ranwu, 210km, Approx. 4.5hrs

After breakfast, we will leave Bomi, surrounded by forests and snow-capped mountains, and head along the Parung Zangbo(also Parlung Tsangpo) canyon. Travel through the world's third-largest canyon, with colorful forests, snow-capped mountains, glaciers, etc. Enjoy the visual feast!

On the way you will visit Midui Glacier, which is known as the most beautiful glacier in China. Midui Glacier shines with snow all year round, and the scenery is breathtaking and charming. It is a rare natural wonder.
Next, you will enjoy the spectacular sight of Laigu Glacier, one of the three largest marine glaciers in the world. Laigu Glacier is quiet and majestic, with a faint blue glimmer on the ice surface. Step into the glacier, you will get a glimpse of the dreamy blue ice.

In the afternoon, you arrive in Ranwu Town and visit Ranwu Lake. Ranwu Lake is famous for its tranquility and blue water. The deep blue water is like a tear falling from the sky.

Day 4 Ranwu - Bomi - Nyingchi, 356km, Approx. 7hrs

Get up early and enjoy the beautiful sunrise of Ranwu Lake surrounded by golden peaks. After breakfast, we will go to Bomi Peach Blossom Valley to start the peach blossom appreciation trip. From Ranwu Lake to Bomi, drive along the Yarlung Tsangpo, you can enjoy the scenery of the primeval forest and the Yarlung Valley, capturing the beauty of nature.

After lunch, you will arrive at the largest peach blossom valley in China - Bomi Peach Blossom Valley. It is famous for the perfect integration of glaciers and peach trees, forming a dreamlike scenery. From the end of March to early April every year, you can walk through the Tibetan villages and feel the charm of Bomi peach blossoms!

Day 5 Nyingchi - Lhasa, 464km, Approx. 5hrs

Today we set off from Nyingchi to the holy land of Lhasa, traveling upstream along the Niyang River with endless views. On the way, you will visit Draksum-tso. It is a famous sacred lake and holy place of the Red Sect (Nyingma Sect of Tibetan Buddhism). The shape of the lake is like a crescent moon embedded in a deep valley, surrounded by snow-capped mountains all year around.

Depart from Basongcuo, you will pass through Mila Mountain Tunnel and travel along the Lhasa River, arriving in Lhasa in the afternoon.

Day 6 Lhasa Sightseeing

After breakfast in the hotel, you will visit Drepung Monastery which was the world's largest monastery that ever housed over 10,000 monks, also the highest-ranking monastery in the Gelug Sect. Drepung means Rice Heaps in the Tibetan language and the whole monastery does look like rice heaps in the distance.

After that, we will go to visit Norbulingka, which is a typical Tibetan-style royal garden, the summer resort of the Dalai Lama. There are a lot of towering trees, exotic flowers and plants in the garden, as well as many collections of cultural relics, Buddha statues, pagodas, thangkas, murals, etc. They are all very precious treasures.

Day 7 Lhasa City

In the morning, your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby and first take you to visit the famous Potala Palace, the cardinal landmark of Tibet and the masterpiece of Tibetan architecture. It was first built by the 33rd King - Songtsen Gangpo in the 7th century and rebuilt later by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. Now it is a museum and a world heritage site. 

In the afternoon, we will go to visit Jokhang Temple in the center of the Lhasa old town. Jokhang Temple is the most sacred temple in Tibet and it is always bustling with earnest local pilgrims since the early days. After that, you will take a walk around the Barkhor Street which is one of the most devotional circuits as well as a crowded central market of Lhasa. Barkhor Street is a very ancient round street surrounding the Jokhang Temple and the locals are always proud of it. As a symbol of Lhasa, it is also a must-see place for visitors.

Day 8 Lhasa Departure

Your Tibet tour ends today. After breakfast, you will be free in the morning. Our staff will collect you at your hotel to transfer to Lhasa Airport/Railway Station.
