Daily Itinerary
CollapseTaking a flight into Tibet will give you a panorama of the snowy Himalaya Mountains Or 1-2 days of train riding over the high plateau by crossing Tanggula Mountains with beautiful sceneries along the way. Once you arrive, our local Tibetan tour guide and driver will greet you at Lhasa Airport/Railway Station to transfer you to the hotel. From the airport to downtown Lhasa, it takes about 1 hour; from Lhasa Railway Station, about 20 minutes. After being transferred to the hotel, you will be free to wander around the city on your own for the rest of the day but try not to overtax yourself. The first day's well-rest is crucial to acclimatize to the high altitude. Remember to drink lots of water, eat light, and not take a shower if you can help it.
Stay overnight in Lhasa
After breakfast in the hotel, the tour guide will take you to Drepung Monastery, the biggest Tibetan monastery that housed more than 10,000 monks in the past. Drepung means Rice Heap in the Tibetan language. The entire monastery is large in scale and the white buildings cluster and cover the hillsides. It's the highest-ranking monastery in the Gelug Sect.
In the afternoon you will first visit the Tibet Museum. Here you can see life scenes, exquisite clothing, house architecture, and festival customs, etc. to explore the special and mysterious Tibetan customs. Then you will visit Norbulingka, which is a typical Tibetan-style royal garden, the summer resort of the Dalai Lama.

The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and the meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet.
At noon, the tour guide will bring you to a good restaurant to have lunch and have a rest. In the afternoon, we will go to visit Jokhang Temple in the center of the Lhasa old town. Jokhang Temple is the most sacred temple in Tibet and it is always bustling with earnest local pilgrims since the early days. After that, you will take a walk around the Barkhor Street - one of the most devotional circuits as well as a crowded central market of Lhasa. Barkhor Street is a very ancient round street surrounding the Jokhang Temple and the locals are always proud of it. As a symbol of Lhasa, it‘s also a must-see place for visitors.

Typically Asked Questions from Our Clients
Asked by Isab***
We are interested in visiting Tibet for about 8 days from 24 or 25th October to 02 November 2024. Two adults (my daughter 29 years old and I).
Do you have a tour that we could join or is it too late to book and get the Tibet entry permit?
We are Australian so I understand that we would not need a visa for China if we stay less than 15 days, is it correct?
Thank you for your help
Dear Isab****,
We have 6 days Lhasa Shigatse group tour on 25 Oct, not 8 days group tour. But we can open 8 days Lhasa to Everest Base Camp Group Tour departing on 24/25. However, it needs further confirmation.
Australian citizens have 15 days China visa-free. We can help you apply for the Tibet Permit with your passport. Usually, it takes 20 working days to obtain a Tibet Permit.
Asked by Dick***
We are a group of 3 adults looking to visit Tibet. We like your package - 8 Days Lhasa to Everest Base Camp Group Tour. Can we know we can have a triple room? We do not wish to in separate rooms. Can we know what are the 3* hotels or 4* hotel?
Dear Dick****,
We can open 8 Days Lhasa to Everest Base Camp Group Tour departing on 9 May 2025 for you.
We can try to arrange a triple room for you during the tour. If the hotel doesn't have triple rooms, we'll arrange two twin rooms or twin rooms adding a bed.
Asked by Vict***
Hi! We are planning an 8-day tour to Tibet, including Everest. We already have our Chinese visas. We plan to visit Tibet right after the Golden Week holidays. I'll arrive in China on September 18th but will leave for Vietnam before the holidays and come back right after it (October 8th or 9th to Chengdu). So, I think the best dates for starting our trip are probably around October 10th to October 12th. I may have flexibility to postpone it for 13th or 14h, but I'm not sure yet.
That being said, I have some questions:
1. Is there a discount for booking this tour for two people? What are the best price you can offer?
2. We are also wondering how much this same 8-day tour with Everest would cost as a private tour for just my girlfriend and me. Can you quote a price for us?
3. How many people are already booked for tours starting on these dates? There are different information about this on the website.
4. I read in another agency website that the tents at EBC starts being evacuated due to cold weather from October to April. Is that true? One of our main expectations for this trip is to spend the night at EBC, so I’m concerned about when this evacuation typically begins, as we are travelling in October.
Thanks in advance.
Dear Vict****,
We have 8 Days Lhasa to Everest Base Camp Group Tour departing on 11 Oct. You can join.
1. If you book the tour by Aug. 24, there's 3% off the tour cost. Usually, only if the tourists book the tour 3 months in advance. There's a discount of 3% tour cost.
2. I can quote the tour for you separately in the next email after you confirm the itinerary. Usually, the private tour costs 2-2.5 times as the group tour for 2 pax.
3. Now, 9 tourists booked this group tour. If there are more than 12 pax, we'll separate them into two groups.
4. Usually, the EBC tents are not available in early Nov. This group tour starts on 11 Oct and tourists will reach EBC on 15 Oct. The tents are still available at that time if no extreme weather there.
Asked by nico***
we would like to visit Ganden monastery and Drak Yerpa too. Is it possible? thanks
Dear nico****,
We can arrange the Lhasa to Everest Base Camp Group Tour as well as the visit to Ganden Monastery and Drak Yerpa for you. I suggest you consider a Semi-group tour. We can arrange a private pick-up service and a free day for you then you join our group. Currently, we don't have a group departure in April 2025 and we can open one for you and need further confirmation. Our group is open based on 3 pax.
