Arriving at Gyantse, you will visit Pelkor Chode Monastery. This magnificent multi-door structure is the largest stupa in Tibet, which is not only a stupa but also has old sculptures and paintings all around its inner walls. Hello, I am looking for a trip that lasts about 7 days beginning on 4/28. I will be traveling with a friend and we both live in Shanghai. What is the process like in terms of getting all of our documents in order, I know that because we live here we need a permit to travel there. I am from the USA and my friend is from Colombia. What is the process like? How long will it take? Thank you, I look forward to your response.
In your inquiry, you mentioned you would like to have Kathmandu Lhasa Overland Group Tour. May I suggest you consider our Lhasa Kathmandu Overland Group Tour instead? There are 2 reasons,
#1. If you enter China from Kathmandu, even if you have China Visa(it would be invalid if you go to Tibet from Kathmandu), you need to apply for China Group Visa. Right now, there're 5 minimum traveler numbers for applying it. So fewer and fewer travelers choose this route.
#2. Kathmandu to Lhasa group tour has to omit Everest Base Camp, as the altitude would suddenly rise from 1200m(Kathmandu city) to 5200m(Everest Base Camp) in 3 days. It's possible for group members to suffer altitude sickness. For the rest attractions, the 2 itineraries are the same.
