When you arrive in Lhasa, our staff will pick you up at Lhasa Airport/ Railway Station and transfer you to the hotel. From the airport, it takes about 1 hour. From the train station, it only takes 20 minutes. Afterward, it's better to relax and take it easy on the first day to get acclimatized to high altitude and alleviate the jet lag. You might go to the local market and wander around the city on your own but try not to overtax yourself.

After a night of rest, you will begin your Lhasa city tour. As the heart of Tibet for over 1,300 years, Lhasa is home to Tibet’s most important cultural and religious landmarks.

Your first stop is the Potala Palace, the former winter palace of the Dalai Lama. Built in the 7th century by King Songtsen Gampo, it is famous for its gilded stupas and historic chapels.

In the afternoon, you will visit Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibetan Buddhism, where pilgrims gather for worship throughout the day.

Later, you will stroll along Barkhor Street, a traditional street around Jokhang Temple known for its Tibetan handicrafts and lively local atmosphere.

You can go to visit the Tibetan handicraft art or the Tibetan Traditional Medicine center if time is enough. You can also watch the Tibetan Culture Show in the evening for USD60 per person at your own expense.

Today’s first attraction is Drepung Monastery. Drepung means "piles of rice" in Tibetan, which symbolizes prosperity. It's the world's largest monastery that housed more than 10,000 monks in the past. Also, It's the highest-ranking monastery in the Gelug Sect. After lunch, you will continue to visit Sera Monastery, the most beautiful Tibetan monastery in Lhasa. The Buddhist scripture debating is the highlight of Sera Monastery.

After breakfast, you will start your trip from Lhasa to Tsedang. It will take you about 2 hours to drive to Tsedang, which is the political center of Shannan prefecture. Usually, Shannan is regarded as the area where civilization started in Tibet, and it dramatically played a significant role in the growth and development of Tibetan Buddhism.

In the afternoon, we can drive you down to Yumbulakang Monastery and Trundruk Monastery. The first palace of Tibet started from Yumbulakang about 2,000 years ago. Most of the ancient sculptures and paintings in Tsedang were done in Yumbulakang. Also, Trundruk is an excellent place you'll love to be, and during the visit, you will see an eye-catching and stunning Tangkha of Pearls beautifully decorated and designed with 29,026 pearls.

This morning, you will visit the Samye Monastery, which is the well-known monastery in Tibet. Samye Monastery was believed to be the first known official Buddhist Monastery that was established in Tibet based on Buddhist terms – Buddha, Monks, and Scriptures.  According to history, there was a very popular debate about Buddhism between the people of Chinese Buddhism and ancient Indian Buddhism. Following the description of the universe according to Buddhist scriptures, as well as the features of Tibetan, Chinese and Indian, Samye Monastery was built which symbolizes the center of the world.

After your trip to Samye Monastery, you will be transported back to Lhasa in the afternoon.

Your flight will transport you to Beijing - the majestic capital of China. You'll immediately see the astonishing contrasts in architecture that have been affected by the long history. For the rest of the day, you can wander around and explore this city on your own.

In the morning, we will set out to see the mysterious Forbidden City which is the world's largest imperial palace complex. Since it was built in Ming Dynasty, The Forbidden City was home for 24 emperors (from 1420 to 1911 AD). It's said to have 9,999½ forbidden imperial chambers. After that, you are moving to Tian'anmen Square with a great cultural significance which has been the site of several key events in Chinese history. Later, you can take a rickshaw going through a maze of Hutongs to explore old Beijing neighborhoods, discover the courtyard house of traditional Chinese characters.

You will have many interesting things to do today. In the morning, you are suggested to do Morning Exercises at the Temple of Heaven, which was founded in the early 15th century. Known as the Imperial Sacrificial Altar, Temple of Heaven always attracts numerous tourists. To avoid crowds and enjoy local people's morning exercises, we are going to this place in the morning. After visiting Temple of Heaven, we'll drive 2.5 hours to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, where you can go through the watchtowers and enjoy breathtaking views as it snakes across the hills and mountains.

You will be picked up from your hotel and then escorted to the railway station. On the train, you will have a soft sleeper to Ulaanbaatar. The train to Ulaanbaatar from Beijing takes around 31 hours. So, you are going to spend one day and one night on the train to arrive in Ulaanbaatar.

After a long train journey, you will arrive in Ulaanbaatar in the afternoon. Your tour guide will meet you at Ulaanbaatar railway station, and then drive you to your hotel in downtown to have a rest.

Your trip in the morning would be to visit the ancient 19th-century Gandantegchinlen Monastery, which is known as the most significant monastery in the entire country – the “Great Place of Complete Joy” as it’s usually called. And from here, we drive down to Sukhbaatar Square – Chinggis Khaan Square as it’s officially been called. The Sukhbaatar is located in the center of the city, and then our next stop would be the National Museum of Mongolia. Here, we can get to know more about Mongolian history and culture. On the last trip for the day, we then visit some of the most popular local markets in the area before driving back to the hotel.

In the morning, drive about 1.5–2 hours to Terelj National Park. En route, visit the majestic Genghis Khan Statue and its museum, which displays Mongolian pottery, weapons, jewelry, and other cultural artifacts. Upon arrival at Terelj National Park, have lunch at a local Ger camp.

After lunch, take a stroll to Turtle Rock, one of the park's most distinctive natural formations, and visit the Ariyabal Meditation Temple, which requires about a 1-hour walk from the parking area. Terelj National Park is known for its granite hills, forests, rivers, and green meadows. Depending on time, you can also enjoy activities such as hiking, trekking, or horse riding.

Before dinner, visit a local herder family to learn about their traditional lifestyle. You may also have a chance to taste airag, a traditional fermented horse-milk drink.

Stay overnight at the Ger camp in Terelj National Park

At around 10:30 am, return to Ulaanbaatar and have lunch in the city before visiting the Winter Palace of the Bogd Khan, now a museum and formerly the winter residence of Bogd Khan.

Next, visit the Zaisan Memorial, located on a hill south of the city, for panoramic views of Ulaanbaatar.

In the early evening, enjoy the “Wonders of Mongolia,” a traditional folk show performed by the renowned Tumen-Ekh Folk Art Group.
