I would highly recommend Great Tibet Tour to anyone and everyone. As I began searching for reliable, trustworthy tour companies, I came across GTT. From my initial email to my final, I was corresponding with Amy who did an excellent job with my tour.

I travelled to Tibet from Chengdu by train in mid-January 2015 (Took me 44 hours) as I wanted my body to acclimatise to the altitude gradually. I still remember the day I was purchasing my train ticket; Amy was on the phone translating to the lady in the window. I wouldn't have done it without Amy's help.

My two-day train journey from Chengdu (Soft sleeper) was a surreal experience. I was glued to the window as the scenery was out of this world!! I would highly recommend doing this.

The itinerary was scheduled perfectly as we had clear blue skies and the sun was glaring over the beautiful mountain backdrop in Lhasa. I met my local Tibetan tour guide named Lobsang who was full of energy and knowledge.

I cannot stress enough how amazing Lobsang and of course Noorpur (The driver) had made the Tibetan experience for me. From immaculate spoken English to fun and laughter, he made the journey spectacular. Every day was an excitement!

5 Days Lhasa & Namtso Lake Group Tour

We have returned to Singapore. The tour was great, we like Lhasa and Namtso's sceneriy is beautiful. Your tour guide n driver are very good. We have given excellent feedback form to them.

As a Buddhist following Buddha's teaching for over 40 yrs now, I am glad that I have finally visited Lhasa n prayed at Jokhang Temple although I experienced high altitude sickness on first two days. My wife also a bit affected. Luckily the hotel doctor helped us overcome the sickness.

We like Tibet n the people. At first we thought this trip would probably be our introductory tour n should later follow by another longer detailed tour of whole Tibet but now we realize that with our age, we may not be able to visit Tibet again.

If our children ( usually very busy ) n their younger friends intend to visit Tibet, we will introduce them to you. We dare not introduce Tibet Tour to our older friends due to the sickness in this trip.

10 Days Lhasa Shigatse Mt.Everest Namtso Tour

Good morning.  I've already returned to HK on last Sunday evening.  It's a great trip indeed.  Everything is arranged and looked after perfectly well.  The itinerary is good.  Both the tour guide and the driver are very nice and helpful too.  I really had a great time.

I will definitely recommend your company to my friends who intend to visit Tibet in future.  And when I come back to Tibet again, I will need the service of your company again too.  Thank you so much for the advice and help you have given me for this trip.

From my side I would say:

Pros +

*Customer service for the trip was great

*Guide and driver were excellent, friendly, helpful and flexible

*Yak guide and his family friendly and helful

*Hotel was very nice and staff there helpful

*Places we visited interesting

Cons -

*Itinerary planning: Driving from the nunnery to Nhamto lake and back to Lhasa is not possible in half a day, especially due to the very slow speed limits they have on the main highway. The change we made was necessary in order to see Nhamso in day light and not spend the whole night in the car - it was good that we ended up finishing the hike quicker.

*Camping: the tents and sleeping bags provided by the tour company are not warm enough for the temperatures over night in April. Temperatures at over 4600m were well below freezing and in most places  there is plenty of wind (the tent fly sheet was open from the bottom so the cold wind got in). I luckily had two extra sleeping bags so could stay warm but just with 1 sleeping bag it would have been a sleepless night.

I think those are the main things from me. Thanks very much for your help with everything.

I will email you separately later about bringing a larger tour group to Tibet.

10 Days Disabled Friendly Everest Base Camp Tour

We were very pleased with the arrangements that you made for us.

Mengbo was an excellent guide. He quickly assessed what we were interested in, was always helpful, and not intrusive at all. So we were very happy with him. We decided not to stay at Rombuk, as we were concerned about the altitude, and Mengbo helpfully made alternative accommodation arrangements for us in Tingri. He also introduced us to authentic Tibetan food which we really enjoyed.

Equally our driver, Pinto, was very competent and safe. He was gracious and friendly. Full marks to him as well.

Our only complaint was with the ShangriLa hotel in Lhasa, which was not up to the standard that we would have expected.....The food was poor and the leisure facilities dirty.  But that was our own booking and no fault of yours!

The train was very good and we had the full compartment to ourselves; many thanks for sorting that for us.

Overall we really enjoyed our time in Tibet and we would be happy to recommend your service to others.

My only adverse comment is your payment system. You would be much better to accept major credit cards for Western guests. That would make payment much simpler.

I was just back to my hometown last night at 12pm, today still have to go to work so im quite tired :) But the tour is good except for the cancellation of EBC trip that we could not do nothing :) Everything was fine, I have no complains since Tashi, the driver was really thoughtful and take care of us so much. Tibet is awesome :) Also tks for your support and care,

10 Days Lhasa Shigatse Mt.Everest Namtso Tour

Tour guide: You guide is very good service , knowledge , English .

Driver: For Driver , He is very good too, Just yours car is slightly old . The day came back from Everest , We got a bit problem , because of the snow ,but your driver and guide can manage .

Hotel : Lhasa , Gang-Gyan hotel is average . For me give them 3.5 star .  The last day heater not work well but not so bad .Shigatse : The Hotel is better than Lasha .  Shega , EBC , I accept . But maybe you should recommend your client to rent sleeping bag for tent at EBC .I am not standard for cold weather, but for tropical guy liked me , you should recommend the sleeping bag .

Conclusion : Tibet tour is very impressive tour for me and my family . Thank you a lot. I hope the people who effect from earthquake will be recovery soon .

Thank a lot for your help again. I miss Lake Namtso . May be next time in Tibet .

As regards the Tibet tour I would rate it a 5* or 5A experience.

The hotel you selected was excellent. Superb location. Lovely, homely property and very kind/helpful staff. We were right in the centre of Lhasa. Wonderful. Penny the owner was delightful.

Hashema the guide and Nema the driver were also excellent. They were efficient and reliable and always very helpful. Lhasa has been a real highlight of my world tour. Potala Palace is far better than I could have imagined it could be and the scenery generally very uplifting and beautiful.

The people I met were very friendly and I spent a wonderful evening in a local cafe talking with the owner and his family.

As always you are very efficient and thorough. Your planning on my behalf has been superb. When I have time I will review this trip on trip advisor and mention you personally. I have already recommended you to all my friends.

PS I am sorry I am leaving china without having met you. I havd been organising this tour and discussing my plans with you for months. You have been brilliant. Patient courteous and always helpful. You took a lot of stress away from me and made the whole process very easy. If I return to Tibet or china - I have every reason to - I will contact you again.

9 Days Lhasa Nyingtri Tsetang Tour

I am writing this email to express my deep gratitude to Ms. Julie Zhu, whose kind help and hard work has granted my trip possible and unforgettable.

Firstly, I must admit that I contacted more than 5 travel companies in Tibet, although they replied, none of them captured the most important point of my trip: the wedding photography services. Ms. Julie Zhu not only understood but also quickly contacted the relevant photography agencies and gave me a detailed quotation in a very short period. I was really amazed by her effectiveness in handling customers’wants and needs.

Secondly, she always presented herself as an extremely smart, fast and reliable person. I gradually felt like communicating with a long-lost friend who understood me so well, and was able to accommodate my needs in great detail. Not only answered my questions promptly, but she was also able to give her personal opinion which turned out very true. For example, I planned to have the Namtso lake trip and Yamdrok lake trip consecutively, and was advised by Julie that It would be an exhausting journey to and back from Namtso lake and that I needed 1 day to rest. Thanks to her advice, I shifted back my schedule and it helped a lot. In fact, I overestimated my physical strength, 1 day's of rest is not enough for me.

Lastly, Julie took a bus to Chengdu airport to hand over my Tibet permit in person, which touched me and my husband deeply. It was very kind and thoughtful of her to give us a small gift with our photos attached. My husband and I both were happy to see her and know her and certainly wish to have her as our personal tour adviser should we visit Chengdu or Tibet again.:)

9 Days Lhasa Nyingtri Tsetang Tour

It was a very nice trip. Your country is so beautiful. The guide and the driver were a good team. We had a lot of fun with them.

The only thing, which wasn´t really good, was traveling by train. It was very filthy and cramped. The next I would fly instead of train traveling. After one day, the toilets were so filthy, that you can´t use it any longer.

But nevertheless Tibet is such a nice country with nice people. The tour was such a nice experience.

If we going to travel to Tibet again, we would book the trip with your company. and we would also book jayman!
