This is one of our best itineraries that cover main tourist sites in Lhasa city, but the most highlight of this tour would be one of the must-visit attractions holy Namtso Lake, it is a second largest saltwater lake in Tibet with an altitude of 4718 meters above sea level and acreage more than 1920 square kilometers, Tibetans look at it as one of the famous Buddhist holy lands.

Day 1 Arrival in Lhasa (3680m)

Taking flight into Tibet will give you a panorama of the snowy Himalaya Mountains Or 1-2 days of train riding over the high plateau by crossing Tanggula Mountains with beautiful sceneries along the way. Once you arrive, our local Tibetan tour guide and driver will greet you at Lhasa Airport/Railway with traditional Tibetan white scarf to wish you good luck! Then transfer you to the hotel, the rest of the day you will be free to wander around the city on your own but try not to overtax yourself. Hi,i'm travelling for 3 weeks in China rom the 20th of march to the 9th of april 2018. I will land in Guangzhou the 20th of march and i will take-off from Guangzhou too the 9th of april. I would like to spend the last week of my trip in China, in Tibet. For the Lhasa & Namtso Lake Group Tour you mentioned, we don't have departure dates on April 1st currenlty. And we are still not sure if April 1st will open to foreign guests or not as we are told to wait for the official notifications. So I suggest you don't choose the tour starting on April 1st at present. If you are intending to see Lake Namtso, you may join our Lhasa City Group Tour starting on April 4th, plus 1~2 days Namtso private tour before the group tour, then you can get back to Guangzhou on April 7th. Here's the itinerary,

Yes, we can buy the train ticket from Beijing to Lhasa for you. Train tickets are issued to sell on the internet only 30 days before departure, it's very hard to purchase the tickets. It's almost impossible for both you and us to get tickets on the internet. So we have to get the ticket from ticket scalper by paying them very high handing fee to guarantee the ticket for you, we have NO profit at all to book any flight/train tickets for clients, we provide tickets booking service and just want our travelers could get into and out of Lhasa easily after tour booked with us.

What are the possibilities here for different types of hotels and private vs. group tours?

Due to the rapid development of the tourism industry in Tibet recently years, the number of hotels & hostels level from the budget guesthouse to luxurious 5-star hotels have been increased, so, you have many choices on lodgings. And the hotels we provide have a good location and good reputations. But frankly speaking, the service qualities in Tibet are not the same as it in big cities such as New York, London, Beijing, Shanghai, etc. The private tour with private car & tour guide, and the group tour with the fixed itinerary, departure date, sharing the total cost of the vehicle, tour guide, etc. Most people who have a group of 1-3 pax usually join the group tour to reduce cost. While, people who have a group more than 3 people, they are intending to choose the private tour.
