Asked Questions from our Clients

Do you book the visas that we need to do this or do we have to do it individually?

Dear Willa Grace Sophia, If you mean visa for China, you need to apply for your it yourself at Chinese embassy in your country before entering China.

I am travelling through China on my gap year. I will be arriving from Chengdu by train and then will be returning there after the tour.

Dear Willa Grace Sophia, the train between Chengdu and Lhasa runs every other day all year around, the train tickets for Chengdu-Lhasa are available on odd number dates only in July such as on 1st, 3rd and 5th etc in July, takes around 43 hours. Taking flight from Lhasa back to Chengdu after Tibet tour is highly recommended.

Hi I'm very interested in visiting Tibet this August. I' am a female and I'll travel alone. I would like to join your group tours. Can I combine more than one tour? Can you advise me on tours? I would like to visit as much as possible and would like to trek Everest. If possible I would prefer to join your tours from Katmandu. If I start there do I need to apply for a China visa or a Tibet Group permit is enough? Do you provide vegan meals? Many thanks Margarida

Dear Margarida,

If you are interested in visiting Mt. Everest and Namtso Lake, I’d like to recommend the 9 days Lhasa-EBC- Namtso-Lhasa group tour, it combines both Mt. Everest and Namtso Lake.  On this tour, you can trek from the Everest Tent Camp to the Everest Base Camp, 4 km one way, 8km for the roundtrip.   But this tour begins from Lhasa ends in Lhasa as well. If you will come to Tibet from Kathmandu, you have to fly into Lhasa, because the border is unavailable now.  And you need a Chinese group visa instead of an individual Chinese visa. So we strongly suggest you don’t apply for the individual Chinese visa before your coming. After you book your Tibet tour with us local Lhasa travel agency, we will prepare an official Invitation Letter and give it to our partner in Kathmandu. After your arrival in Kathmandu, our Nepali partner will meet you for your original passport and two passport-sized pictures, and then he can obtain your Chinese group visa.  The Chinese group visa fee is from 80-130 US$ according to working days required.

In a conclusion, you need the Chinese group visa and Tibet permit; we can help you to apply for them after you booked the tour with us.

Yes, we provide vegan meals. You can order meals and pay for it. Regards, Julie

I will be in Xining in July. I want to travel to Tibet afterwards, leaving Xining on 10th July and arriving in Lhasa on 11th July by train. I want to take a group tour in Lhasa starting on 11th July, the tour to last about 5 or 6 days. Do you have any tours on this day that would be suitable? Please let me know price, and also the price to book Xining to Lhasa train. Thank you Ruth

Dear Ruth, it's no problem for you to plan leaving Xining on 10th July and arriving in Lhasa on 11th July by train. If we book the train ticket (soft sleeper) for you, the price is about US$210 one way per person. According to your situation, I think our 5 days Lhasa & Namtso Lake Group tour is suitable for you. The price is US$860 and the single supplement is US$130.

Two adult Male, Joint group tour, Need your arrangement train ticket from Xining - Lhasa, continue with your tour 5 days LHASA & NAMTSO LAKE GROUP TOUR last day return Lhasa - Kuala Lumpur by flight Please advise available to proceed flight arrangement and China Visa before your Tibet permit

Dear Hin Lian, yes we can book the train ticket from Xining to Lhasa for you and apply for Tibet permit before your coming.  If you will enter Tibet from the mainland of China, you need to apply for the individual China visa before your coming.  But if you will come to Tibet from Nepal, you need our help to apply for the China group visa.
