Day 1 Arrival in Beijing

Welcome to Beijing! Your guide will greet you at Beijing Airport holding your name sign. Transfer to hotel in downtown Beijing. Have the rest of the day to yourself to recover from your longtime international flight or explore the city on your own.

Day 2 Beijing Sightseeing

Being capital of China, Beijing is the nation's political, economic, and cultural center. Located in north China, close to the port city of Tianjin and partially surrounded by Hebei Province, it also serves as the most important transportation hub and port of entry. As one of the six ancient cities in China, Beijing has been the heart and soul of politics throughout its long history and consequently there is an unparalleled wealth of discovery to delight and intrigue travelers as they explore the city's ancient past and exciting modern development.

Day 3 Beijing Sightseeing

Day 4 Flight: Beijing-Lhasa

Transfer to Beijing Airport to take the flight to Lhasa;

Our local Tibetan guide will wait you at Lhasa airport holding your name sign. You will be greeted with a warm Tashidelek(meaning hello with blissing), and be presented with a white Hada(traditional Tibetan ceremonial by give you a white scarf). Then transfer to hotel in Lhasa city.

To rest well on your first arrival in Lhasa(3650m) is essential to ease Acute Mountain Sickness(AMS, also known as altitude sickness). Try your best to resist the temptation of going out.

Day 5 Lhasa Suburb

Today you will visit attractions in Lhasa suburb. You will stay long hour on sightseeing under the fierce sun of Tibet, do arm yourself with sunglasses/ hat/ sunscreen, etc.

Day 6 Lhasa City

As the capital city, Lhasa is the political, economic, cultural, communication and tourism center of Tibet with a history over 1300 years.

As the winter palace of the Dalai Lama, Potala Palace is an important religious landmark of Tibet.
The life-sized statue of the Jowo Shayamuni of age 12 can be seen in Jokhang Temple, it is recognized as the holiest object in Tibet.
Day 7 Lhasa - Namtso - Lhasa

On the way to Namtso, you will have a far view of Nyenchen Thanglha Snow Mountain. Enjoy the view of the vast grassland and spectacular natural scenery. You’ll arrive at Namtso after pass Nagela Pass(5150m).

Day 8 Train: Lhasa - Chengdu

Transfer to Lhasa Railway Station to take the train to Chengdu, which departs from Lhasa, arrive the third day in Chengdu,  total 43:40hrs. You will spend two nights on the train.

Day 9 In the Train

Today, you will spend the whole day in the train. Enjoy the fantastic view along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. 

Day 10 Arrival in Chengdu

Guide and driver will wait you at Chengdu Airport/Railway holding your name sign. Transfer to hotel in downtown Chengdu.

Day 11 Chengdu - Panda Base - Leshan - Emei

You will be picked up from your hotel then set out for Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda, which is a non-profit research and breeding facility for giant pandas as well as other rare animals. After sightseeing here we head for Leshan, and visit Leshan Giant Buddha, the tallest rock Buddha statue in the world and carved out of a cliff by monks in southern Sichuan province during Tang Dynasty (618–907AD).

Day 12 Emei - Chengdu

After sightseeing Mt Emei, drive back to Chengdu for the night.

Day 13 Chengdu

Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province in the southwest. Once a silk brocade capital, it is pleasantly situated on the banks where the Jin and Fu Rivers intersect. It’s central Tianfu Square still boasts a giant statue of Mao, and from there it is easy to shop, sightsee, and sample street foods.

Day 14 Departure from Chengdu

Pick up from hotel in Chengdu according to your flight schedule, then transfer to Chengdu Airport for your next destination.

Tour code c 03 also would like to go to Sakya monastery if possible before going on to Chengdu. After Chengdu we can go other places on our own until our flight back to the United States. We plan to go to xi'an and xining before returning to Beijing.
